Teammates
We are recruiting a team of engaging academic superstars to serve as teammates (or peer-tutors) for our Are You Ready for College clients. If you are selected for this elite team of young talent, you will have the ability to work online and create your own schedule.
Our goal is to help students realize their college dreams by assisting them with college applications and strengthening their academic achievements with study skills.
We support students by reviewing and clarifying their study strategies. We offer additional study skills to students who need supplemental help.
Teammates provide subject-area knowledge, and they serve as role models for our clients by modeling techniques, strategies, attitudes, and beliefs that successful learners use to (1) acquire new knowledge, (2) solve problems, and (3) complete academic tasks.
Other assistance might include reviewing class material, discussing texts, reviewing test questions, generating ideas for papers, or working on solutions to problems.
In addition to offering peer support for those who need help completing college applications, we also offer peer tutoring in math, science, literature, composition, psychology, history and humanities. Specialized teammates will also assist students in preparing for classwork or auditions in the performing arts in music theory, vocal performance, and acting.
Teammates serve an important role at Are You Ready for College. They work under the supervision of the Director of Educational Leadership and may work closely with academic coaches who teach in their designated discipline(s).
