Founded in 2019, Are You Ready, Inc. helps close the preparation gaps that make the transition to college harder than it should be. Some students arrive already knowing how to navigate a syllabus, manage deadlines, and conduct academic research - others are facing these expectations for the first time. Meet Candace Reese | Founder
Are You Ready, Inc.
Are You Ready, Inc. was founded by Dr. Candace Reese, a college professor and educational strategist. Raised in inner-city Dallas and completely self-made, she has taught College Composition, Reading and Writing for 25 years, along with College Success, American Literature II, and Humanities 1301 — six courses across four disciplines. She has also created multiple accelerated learning programs for colleges, universities, and nonprofits.
Since 2002, Dr. Reese has led coaching organizations and retail businesses, including Are You Ready, Inc., which acquired Ruby Tree Publishing in 2021.
Her work with college students revealed a recurring gap: students were often expected to know academic practices they had never been explicitly taught. Are You Ready, Inc. was built to close that gap.
