Dr. Candace Reese advocates for equal access to education for students through her work with Are You Ready for College.
After 20 years of teaching college English and Developmental Reading and Writing, she asked a group of educators ranging from certificate to graduate programs what they expected students to already know on the first day of class. Together, they established a formula for students to study, write, and communicate with professors in 10 hours instead of 10 weeks.
Since its launch in 2020, Are You Ready for College has helped thousands of students across the United States.
She travels the country teaching educators the benefits of Are You Ready for College because she believes all students should know how to study, write, and communicate with professors in the first week of school.
